LAND types in Continuum World
Hi there future Continuum World citizens!
As you already know, Continuum World does not require any investment in the game; not having any kind of barrier to be able to play the game is one of our most cherished ideas. However, as a play-to-earn game basic principle, we also want to offer the opportunity of purchasing our game assets as an investment, and the main way of doing that is through our NFT LANDs.
20.000 NFT lands will be available for purchase on December, in different sizes and qualities! Let’s take a look at the characteristics of these lands and how they are classified, so you can start thinking which is the right land for you depending on your goals and personal preferences!
But…! Before getting into that… Do you remember our last post about biomes? Of course you do! But just in case… Forest and Grassland (common), Rocky (uncommon), Glacial and Volcanic (rare) and Mystical (very rare)! These are the types of ecosystems that form the Continuum World vast universe… and also the lands players can purchase! So the basic idea to keep in mind is that lands are formed by these biomes.
Alright! Now let’s get deeper into how these purchasable lands are classified, and how its price is set.
SIZE
First of all, the land size. Depending on it, lands will be formed by one or more biomes. There are three available sizes.
Small: formed by 1 biome.
Medium: formed by 3 biomes.
Large: formed by 5 biomes.
Our universe is randomly generated, so any kind of combination is possible! For example, a medium land could be formed by a Forest, Glacial and Mystical biomes… what a land!
BIOME RARITY AND RICHNESS
On top of the land’s size, each biome that forms the land is defined by a rarity type and a richness level. These are the parameters that define the biome value, so pay attention (and preferably take some notes)!
Rarity is divided into three types, the third being the harder to find and most valuable one. “But what is the meaning of rarity!?” are you wondering… well… exclusive resources! Some resources are shared between all rarities, but others like fruits or animals are completely different depending on the rarity. As rarity I is more common than II or III, this means these last two have the rarest resources in some categories! And I guess you already know what “rare resource” means in a free market… am I right?
Along with rarity, the other characteristic that defines a biome’s value is richness. With the goal in mind of making things easier… have you guessed already…? There are three types of richness as well! Regular, Abundant and Wealthy. Richness, as its own meaning slightly suggests, refers to the amount of resources a land has… the more the better! A larger total amount of resources means not only more in number, but also in chances of spawning rare or legendary ones… it means “RICH” in a big, fancy way!
With all that being said… even with a very rare and rich land, the exploration of other islands is crucial in order to discover and gather all types of resources! The main idea of our game circles around exploration… so be ready to move around!
PRICE (STARS)
Finally, depending on the quality of biomes that form the land (types of biome, rarity and richness), as well as the land size (small, medium and large), a number of stars and a price is assigned to the land. This time there are not three, but five types of land quality!
Once the sale starts, the LAND will be priced in $UM. This means only $UM will be accepted, be ready for that! These $UM will not be sold, but kept in our treasury.
For now this would be the starting equivalent values in USD.
1 star — USD $25 equivalent
2 stars —USD $50 equivalent
3 stars — USD $75 equivalent
4 stars — USD $100 equivalent
5 stars — USD $150 equivalent
Let’s wrap things up summarizing everything said above!
Land: purchasable terrain formed by biomes.
Small: one biome.
Medium: three biomes.
Large: five biomes.
Each biome has two characteristics that set its quality.
Rarity: exclusive resources for each type: I, II or III. III is very rare compared to I.
Richness: the total amount of resources a land has: regular, abundant or wealthy.
All these characteristics set a price to the land, classified by stars, from 1 to 5.
That’s everything for today, future citizens! I hope you now understand the concept of “land” and you are ready to participate in this idyllic, marvellous universe of Continuum World!
